Plastic , the magic as well as the logic of it

I love plastic, the range of  colours it comes in and the shine of it! Plastic bangles and ear rings go very well with casual wear and synthetic sarees. The amazing beauty of matching plastic accessories is literally invisible to the Indian eye, which thinks of gold as a synonym for jewellery. We Indians never seem to realize that gold ornaments get to look so dirty and dull and don't really match the dizzying variety of fabrics and designs of the times.
Apart from accessories, the use of plastic as a watertight dust proof cover is indisputable. No other cover, made of paper or cloth, can protect as plastic does. It looks hip too and is inexpensive. There must surely be a way to recycle plastic and rather than make a hue and cry of plastic degrading the environment, we should find ways to dispose off waste plastic successfully.
Personally, I think few things can look as pretty as a red, shiny, plastic mug.

I am not against the use of plastic but the way they are disposed of. People throw away everything in the air making the whole atmosphere messy. By the way people buy gold, at least most of them, to pawn and to make money in future.

Gold is purchased as a symbol of one's status and little else; when you pawn gold the whole family goes into mourning as if something untoward has happened

I just abhor plastic.
Anything and everything that is plastic. Utterly detestable.
And itz really strange to find someone who loves the magic & logic of it.
Interesting!

this abhorrence that I see in newspapers and among some progressive thinkers surprises me, for as a person who uses such a lot of plastic, I feel indebted to it. Plastic is pretty, ask a one year old, if you want.

Any kid might just get enraptured by the colours and the texture of those objects rather than the material behind.. Happy to know that u still harbour a 'Kuzhandai Manasu', Madame Ji!

you have chosen not to speak on the usefulness of plastic. And yes, plastic is a material, which can be produced in multiple colours and with excellent texture! You have come to my side after all!
